The service
How does VoltRunner EV work?
You book an arrival window, tell us where your car is parked, and a Runner drives a charging van to it. You can track them live, and you get a photo, the energy added and a receipt when the charge is done. See how it works.
Do I need to be there?
No. Most members aren't. If your charge port only opens from the car's app, you open it when your Runner arrives. We text you when they do.
How much charge do I get?
Each charge adds up to 40 kWh, about 120+ miles for most EVs. Your receipt shows exactly how much went in.
Which cars do you charge?
Every EV sold in the US. Runners carry NACS (Tesla), CCS1, J1772 and CHAdeMO connectors, and your vehicle profile tells them which one to bring.
Do you do emergency roadside charging?
No. We're scheduled charging, not roadside rescue. Planning routes ahead is what keeps prices down. If you're stranded, call your roadside assistance provider.
Where do you operate?
We're launching first in Los Angeles County. The first ZIP codes are chosen by waitlist demand, starting with the densest apartment areas. Check your ZIP.
Plans and billing
When will I be charged?
Not until service starts in your ZIP and you choose a plan. Joining the waitlist is free.
Can I cancel?
Yes, any time, online, in two taps from your dashboard. Your plan runs to the end of the period you've paid for, and we email you a confirmation. See our cancellation policy.
What if I need more charges?
Add extra charges one at a time for $79 each. Tempo and Marathon also roll one unused charge into the next month.
How can I pay?
Card, Apple Pay or Google Pay through Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We plan to accept USDC through Stripe later and will announce it when it's live.
Business
Do you charge fleets?
Yes, through Relay: per-vehicle monthly pricing, 30-day pilots for 5 to 20 vehicles, and monthly invoicing. Get a fleet quote.
Can I become a VoltRunner operator?
Not yet. We keep an operator interest list and will contact people on it when we open a network. Nothing on this site is an offer to sell a franchise or business opportunity.
Privacy and safety
Do you sell my data?
No. We don't sell or share your personal information, and we honor Global Privacy Control signals. Read our privacy policy.
Is it safe to have someone charge my car?
Runners are trained in high-voltage safety, pass a background check and driving-record review, and photograph your car before and after every charge. See safety and insurance.
